We are well known for speaking from the heart. This is our personal experience & perception as to why we felt the need to no longer
sell, support, endorse Cavs karaoke products. Please note that people still ask us about cavs karaoke products, hence the importance to post this. We wish to give the very short version upfront. The manufacturer made a business decision based upon the numbers. They wanted us to buy a certain amount of product that did not fit well with us. Therefore a respectful departure was the solution.
We did however plead our case before walking away. The sad reality is Cavs karaoke products require a lot more attention than
other products we have used. Do not get us wrong, their karaoke players were superior in my mind. Just that there were too many
people that were unhappy with the product because the moment they got confused, they felt that they either were without help or made
to feel like they were not intelligent enough to understand it (stories we heard through the years from consumers). That was the difference with us. We held our customers hands, that's the ONLY reason why our customers loved Cavs products. Case in point. We have had customers that told us they would NEVER buy another cavs karaoke player ever again. So we spent time telling them that we bet they bought their players from a few different places. Got a great price and are now unhappy with the afterservice. Wahla, exactly! We explained that we NEVER leave our customers to the wolves. That this is the customers fault too. Say we educated 100 customers on Cavs products. Do you know that if 75 of those customers were totally sold on buying the cavs karaoke product. That only 10 out of the 75 would then buy it from us?
NO WAY, RIGHT? Sad to say, too many consumers love to TRUST us, but when it comes time to show that appreciation for us being a 100 times better than eveyone else. They refuse to pay the fair price and go find the cheaper price on the internet! So in reality. Even if we only showed selling 10 units, we really sold 75, yet some other cut throat got the credit for the sale. The manufacturer did not find value in this, they only found value in the end based upon numbers. (Can't blame them, it is what it is) Yet if the manufacturer was honest enough with you, they could easily admit that ZERO of our customers in the past decade have EVER shown unhappiness regarding us. CAN'T say that for other sellers! Our ads, training on product, etc. were miles ahead of everyone else. Yet NONE of that saved us in the end.
The owner of Cavs Karaoke is a very smart person. He DESERVES the title as the karaoke company who pioneered some great technology. I still think that their products are rock solid. Yet the amount of work into holding the customers hand through hicups, changes, etc. were exhausting. Example; The Cavs KJ Deluxe karaoke hosting software. That software has more features than many others do. Cavs also does continual work on the product which many other karaoke softwares don't. Yet unless you teach the customer step by step how to really use all of it, it can become very confusing, frustrating. Even the installation process is mind boggling to say the least. Does not take away the fact that it is a great software in it's own right, just does not fit many of the customers need to keep it more simple.
In conclusion. We wish for anyone that is interested in Cavs Karaoke products & have done their homework and feel comfortable with the ins/outs of cavs karaoke to feel comfortable calling up manufacturer and buying direct from them. You can trust that Cavs has always made a pretty rock solid product. Yet we will no longer sell nor support the product.
Our alternative solutions that are comparable and in our opinion a better fit for our customer base:
Cavs JB199 digital jukebox: We don't think anything absolutely beats that design. Yet if you could forego a few features, you could easily have a custom rackmount computer built for you that will make you happy & more for your money in the way of processing power, hard drive backups, etc.
Cavs karaoke laptops: We customize all our laptops. A lot more work put into the various extra touches, etc. In addition to this, most
often slightly better spec ratings for comparable money. (Once again, if you like cavs software, then i's a nobrainer to get cavs)
Cavs karaoke players: Unfortunately, we believe cd players are a thing of the past. The last cavs 205g usb we had for a customer, it took us weeks to help the customer with various little hicups, etc. I still think it's the best overall choice for karaoke players. But why buy a player anymore when you can just put together a laptop that does it all and much more.
